FYI: The iconic Ford GT’s second generation, introduced in 2016, merges historical significance with modern technological advancements, culminating in the exclusive ’66 Heritage Edition.

The Second-Generation Ford GT: A Modern Marvel

The second-generation Ford GT, which made its debut in 2016, is a testament to Ford’s prowess in combining historical excellence with cutting-edge engineering. Powered by a mid-mounted 3.5L V6 EcoBoost engine, the GT boasts twin turbochargers and intercoolers, generating a staggering 647 horsepower. This power is managed by a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, ensuring precision and performance.

Performance and Practicality

  • Acceleration: From a standstill, the Ford GT can rocket to 60 MPH in approximately 2.8 seconds.
  • Top Speed: The vehicle reaches a breathtaking top speed of 216 MPH.
  • Daily Driving: Despite its racing pedigree, the Ford GT is surprisingly practical for everyday use, incorporating modern technology that enhances its usability.

The 2021 Ford GT ’66 Heritage Edition

To commemorate the legacy of the GT40 Mk II that triumphed in the 1966 24 Hours of Daytona, Ford launched the exclusive ’66 Heritage Edition. Limited to just 50 units, this special edition pays homage to the legendary car driven by Ken Miles and Lloyd Ruby.

Design and Tribute Features

  • Exterior: The Heritage Edition sports a Frozen White exterior adorned with bold asymmetrical Race Red accents on the front fascia, roof, rear wing, and doors.
  • Details: Prominent #98 roundels and alloy wheels complete the model’s distinctive look, honoring its racing lineage.
