FYI: The 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona has finally arrived with official pricing and a slew of options, promising to electrify the muscle car market.
2024 Dodge Charger Daytona: Pricing and Packages Unveiled
In anticipation of the 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona’s battery-electric debut, Dodge has officially revealed pricing details, dispelling numerous rumors that had been swirling around. Starting with the significant figures, the MSRP for the Charger Daytona R/T begins at $59,995, excluding a $1,995 destination charge. This brings the price to $61,990 without additional options, considerably undercutting earlier speculations by $8,575.
The performance-oriented Charger Daytona Scat Pack is priced at $75,185, including shipping, which is $8,980 less than previously rumored estimates.
Package Breakdown and Standard Equipment Variations
Notably, the official standard equipment list diverges from information in early dealer guides. Previously, the R/T trim was anticipated to come equipped with the $4,995 Plus Group, the $1,095 Blacktop Package, and the $2,495 Sun & Sound Group, totaling $8,585. This cost aligns closely with the rumored discrepancy in Stellantis’ computer image.
Interestingly, Dodge has refrained from using the term "First Edition," despite its frequent mention in earlier reports. The automaker has instead referred to a "Customer Preferred Package," and it remains unclear whether Dodge intended a grand launch strategy or plans to implement familiar First Edition elements more subtly.
Plus Group Offerings and Trim Specifics
The Plus Group, offered on both trims for $4,995, includes a variety of enhancements:
- 360-degree surround-view camera
- Ambient LED lighting
- Exterior mirrors with Dodge logo puddle lamps
- Premium instrument panel and door trim panels
- Premium LED headlamps
- Power hatch
- Wireless charging pad
Additionally, the R/T trim benefits from:
- 16-inch color driver display
- 20×9-inch alloy wheels
- Deluxe security alarm
- Head-up display
- Ventilated leather-look low-back bucket seats
Meanwhile, the Scat Pack trim standardizes some of these features and steps up to ventilated leather high-back bucket seats. Despite announcing "additional content" within the Plus Group, Dodge has yet to detail these extras.
Additional Options and Special Packages
Buyers interested in the Demonic Red seats will need to invest an additional $495 after acquiring the Plus Group. Furthermore, the Scat Pack offers the $2,995 Carbon & Suede package and $695 three-season tires with Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar 3 rubber. Contrary to popular belief, these tires are not standard with the Track Pack; all-season tires come as standard.
Federal Incentives and Production Timeline
Both Charger Daytona models qualify for a $7,500 federal tax credit if leased. Additionally, they come equipped with either a Level 2 home charging station or a $600 charging credit via Stellantis’ Free2move Charge network. Production of the two-door battery-electric model kicks off this summer, while the four-door variant follows in the first half of 2025. The gasoline model with the Hurricane inline-six engine will not start production until late 2025.
Dealership Availability and Conclusion
By the third quarter, interested buyers can review available allocations on Dodge’s Horsepower Locator, with the vehicles expected to hit dealer lots in the fourth quarter.
Dodge’s latest move signifies a bold step into the electric era without sacrificing the raw power associated with the Charger name. Keep an eye on this space for further updates as more details emerge about these electrifying new entries in the muscle car domain.
