FYI: Cadillac’s new 2025 Optique emerges as the affordable, premium addition to its electric Lyriq lineup, boasting impressive specs and eco-friendly features.
Pricing Details for the 2025 Cadillac Optique Revealed
Cadillac’s upcoming compact crossover, the 2025 Optique, is set to enhance the brand’s electric vehicle lineup by serving as an entry-level option under the Lyriq series. Unveiled in May, the Optique starts at a base price of approximately $54,000. Notably, it comes standard with dual-motor all-wheel drive. Here’s the breakdown of the MSRP for the four available trims, excluding a $1,495 destination charge:
- Luxury 1: $54,390
- Sport 1: $54,990
- Luxury 2: $56,590
- Sport 2: $57,090
Power and Range
Every 2025 Optique model houses an 85kWh battery, powering dual motors to produce a robust 300 horsepower and 354 pound-feet of torque. The vehicle promises an estimated range of 300 miles on a full charge. While Cadillac has yet to specify the maximum charging speed, they claim that a 10-minute charge using a DC fast charger will add approximately 79 miles to the range.
Comparison With Lyriq
If you’re familiar with the Lyriq’s pricing, you might find the Optique’s cost somewhat close to its sibling. The 2024 Lyriq’s entry-level Tech trim starts at $58,590 (including delivery). However, this trim will be discontinued in 2025, making the Lyriq Luxury 1 the new base trim, starting at $59,990 (including delivery). This makes the 2025 Lyriq $1,400 more expensive than the 2024 model and $5,600 pricier than the Optique Luxury 1. It’s important to note that the base Lyriq is rear-wheel drive, while the 2025 Lyriq Luxury 1 AWD starts at $63,490, which is a $9,100 premium over the base Optique. Additionally, with the Lyriq’s destination charge set at $1,395, the final price difference might be even larger.
Tax Benefits and Availability
Cadillac confirms that buyers can claim the full $7,500 federal tax credit once the Optique enters production at GM’s Ramos Arizpe plant in Mexico. However, potential buyers should be aware that the more affordable trims will roll out later in the year. Therefore, if you’re aiming to purchase an Optique before year-end, the higher-priced Luxury 2 and Sport 2 models might be your only options.
Premium Features Without Sacrifice
Despite its more accessible price point, the Optique retains Cadillac’s luxurious reputation. The vehicle features an illuminated black crystal grille, flush door handles, and stylish rear quarter-panel windows showcasing a Mondrian-inspired design. At the rear, the car boasts a vertical light bar encircling the backlighting, complemented by another light bar on the lower liftgate. However, the vehicle lacks a rear window wiper, opting instead for upper and lower spoilers.
High-Tech Interior
Inside, the Optique is equipped with a 33-inch LED display with an impressive 9K resolution, serving both as the infotainment and instrument panel. This system includes Google built-in technology, featuring Google Assistant and Google Maps integration, although Apple CarPlay is unavailable. The standard AKG audio system offers high-quality sound through 19 speakers with Dolby Atmos support.
Eco-Friendly Materials and Spaciousness
The interior is adorned with sustainably sourced materials like recycled yarns for fabric coverings and "PaperWood" veneer made from tulipwood and recycled newspapers. Open and illuminated storage spaces abound, lined with a soft-touch fabric made from recycled materials. However, the elevated floor due to the placement of the battery may compromise legroom in both rows, and second-row passengers might find headroom somewhat limited. The Optique provides 26 cubic feet of cargo space, expandable to 57 cubic feet with the second row folded down.
Comprehensive Safety Suite
Safety hasn’t been overlooked in the Optique. It comes standard with advanced safety features including forward pedestrian and cyclist braking, reverse automatic braking, automatic high beams, blind zone steering assist, and rear cross-traffic braking.
