FYI: The 2025 Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban have been unveiled, showcasing substantial updates and a notable price hike.
The 2025 Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban: Fresh Enhancements and Higher Costs
The eagerly anticipated 2025 Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban have finally made their debut in November 2023, bringing with them a plethora of enhancements and upgrades. However, prospective buyers should be ready for a steeper price tag compared to the 2024 models, reflecting both inflation and the extensive updates.
Modern Facelift and Enhanced Suspension
New Exterior Design
The 2025 models feature a refreshed exterior, catching eyes with a new front fascia and sleeker daytime running lights. A revised wheel design now includes an option for 24-inch wheels on the RST and High Country trims—marking the first time these massive wheels are available directly from the factory.
Improved Agility
Chevrolet claims the updated suspension significantly improves the vehicles’ agility, a notable achievement for full-size SUVs. Particularly, the RST, Z71, and High Country variants can be equipped with an air ride adaptive suspension and Magnetic Ride Control shocks, enhancing ride comfort and handling.
Interior Overhaul and Advanced Tech
Spacious and Tech-Savvy Cabin
Inside, the 2025 models boast a redesigned lower instrument panel and a reworked steering wheel, creating a more open and inviting cabin atmosphere. Standard across all trims are an 11-inch digital instrument cluster and a 17.7-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Fortunately, essential climate controls remain accessible via physical buttons and knobs, and there’s also a dedicated volume knob integrated into the touchscreen.
Connectivity and Safety Features
Recognizing the importance of connectivity, both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto come standard. A newly introduced "connected camera" feature allows remote viewing and recording of the vehicle’s interior and exterior for enhanced security. Meanwhile, an "interior motion detection" system alerts owners to any micro-movements inside the vehicle, safeguarding against unauthorized access or detecting trapped animals.
Engine Options and Performance
Powerful and Efficient Choices
Buyers can choose from three engine options: a 5.3-liter V8 generating 335 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque, an updated 3.0-liter inline-six turbodiesel producing 305 horsepower and 495 pound-feet of torque, and a 6.2-liter V8 offering a robust 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. The 5.3-liter V8 is standard on all trims except the High Country, which comes equipped with the 6.2-liter V8.
The enhanced turbodiesel engine, updated for 2025, promises better performance and efficiency, though it won’t be available immediately at launch. For those impatient to get their hands on this option, it will follow shortly thereafter.
