FYI: The 2025 Genesis G80 Pricing and Upgrades Unveiled
We recently had the pleasure of test driving the revamped 2025 Genesis G80 sedan, and it continues to impress just like its predecessor. Set to arrive in dealerships by the end of summer, it’s high time for pricing information to be revealed. Although Genesis announced pricing for the 2024 G80 around April, it’s noteworthy that the 2025 models have seen a price increase between $350 and $700. While the differences aren’t substantial, here’s what you can expect should you decide to visit a Genesis dealership soon.
Pricing Details for the 2025 Genesis G80 (Excludes $1,250 Delivery Charge)
- 2.5T: $58,350 (up by $2,700)
- 2.5T Advanced: $63,150 (up by $2,800)
- 2.5T Sport Prestige: $69,600 (up by $4,400)
- 3.5T Sport Advanced: $70,850 (up by $2,400)
- 3.5T Sport Prestige: $78,250 (up by $3,900)
Engine and Specs
For the enthusiasts out there, all 2025 G80 models come standard with all-wheel drive. Here’s a breakdown of the engine options:
- 2.5T: This variant is equipped with a turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 300 horsepower and 311 pound-feet of torque.
- 3.5T: This model boasts a turbocharged 3.5-liter six-cylinder engine, delivering 375 horsepower and 391 pound-feet of torque.
Genesis has trimmed down its offerings by dropping the 3.5T Sport trim, which previously started at $65,500. Most of its features have now been integrated into the new Sport Advance package, causing a slight shift in the price spectrum. This change brings the price gap between the higher and lower trims closer together.
Design and Interior Features
Here are some of the key design and interior updates for the 2025 G80:
- Grille and Lights: Inspired by the GV80, the G80 sports a dual mesh in the crest grille and has upgraded to the G90 sedan’s Micro Lens Array (MLA) LED headlamps.
- Exterior Updates: The rear has been revamped, eliminating the exhaust finisher and adding a V-shaped motif filled with mesh lines except for the Sport Prestige trim.
- Wheels: New 20-inch wheel designs enhance its sporty look.
- Infotainment System: Inside, the dual screens (12.4-inch and 14.5-inch) have been merged into an impressive single 27-inch OLED display which echoes the GV80’s setup.
- Controls: The center tunnel dual dials have been replaced by a crystal shifter and an integrated controller, adding a polished touch.
Performance and Market Comparison
In terms of driving experience, the Genesis G80 remains a "classic luxury sedan in every respect," boasting elegance and poise. However, it’s worth mentioning that its pricing puts it in competition with well-regarded rivals:
- BMW 530i xDrive: Starts at $61,775 with 255 horsepower.
- BMW 540i xDrive: Kicks off from $66,375 offering 375 horsepower.
- BMW 550e xDrive: Starts at $73,875 with an electrifying 483 horsepower.
While the BMW sedans may offer superior sportiness, the G80 still stands strong within its luxury segment.
Conclusion
The refreshed 2025 Genesis G80 may come with a higher price tag, but its blend of luxury, technological improvements, and performance makes it a worthwhile consideration. If you’re set on the G80, opting for the 3.5T Sport Prestige or lower trims could offer the best balance of features and value.
