FYI: Kia has revealed updated pricing for the 2024 and 2025 Sorento models, with notable enhancements and slight price adjustments.
2024 Kia Sorento Pricing and Updates
Kia unveiled the pricing for the non-hybrid 2024 Kia Sorento earlier this year, introducing a host of innovations and adjustments. The redesigned crossover now features a more striking aesthetic, an improved tech interface, additional standard amenities, and the introduction of the off-road-ready X-Pro trim level.
In January, Hyundai, Kia’s parent company, implemented a second price hike for the 2024 Sorento. While the initial increase was minimal, the subsequent hike saw MSRP rising by $1,500 to $2,500. Thankfully, for the 2025 non-hybrid Sorento, pricing remains relatively consistent with only a modest increase of $100 to $200, and a $200 reduction for the X-Line.
Here are the new MSRPs for the 2024 Sorento, excluding the $1,375 delivery fee:
- LX: $33,365 (unchanged)
- S: $35,965 ($200 cheaper)
- EX: $39,465 ($100 cheaper)
- SX: $43,065 (unchanged)
- X-Line EX: $43,165 ($200 cheaper)
- X-Line SX: $44,865 (unchanged)
- X-Line SX Prestige: $47,765 (unchanged)
- X-Pro SX Prestige: $48,765 (unchanged)
Powertrain and AWD Options
The LX, S, EX, and SX trims come standard with front-wheel drive (FWD). However, for those seeking all-wheel drive (AWD), it is available on the S trim for an additional $2,000, which is the only FWD trim offering this option aside from the X-Line.
Notably, the 2024 X-Line SX is a fresh addition to the lineup. The reasoning behind its price reduction remains unclear, mirroring a similar price cut seen with the Tucson X-Line when other Tucson models experienced a price increase.
Exterior Updates
The 2024 Sorento has undergone a few changes in its exterior palette. Pantera Metallic has replaced Gravity Gray, offering a refreshed look. Additionally, the X-Line and X-Pro trims sport black Kia and Sorento badging, including on the hubcaps, adding a sleek touch.
2025 Sorento Hybrid and PHEV Pricing
Looking ahead to 2025, Kia has maintained the pricing for the Hybrid models, holding steady since the last update two months ago:
- EX Hybrid: $40,065
- SX Prestige Hybrid: $48,265
In contrast, the plug-in hybrid (PHEV) models are seeing a significant price increase, warranting the introduction of a new entry-level trim to keep the base price under $50,000, excluding the $1,375 delivery charge:
- EX PHEV: $49,365 (new trim)
- SX Prestige PHEV: $54,465 ($2,800 increase)
Conclusion
Kia continues to push the envelope with the 2024 and 2025 Sorento, blending modern design with robust performance options and flexible pricing. The refreshed lineup promises to cater to a wide range of consumer needs, balancing affordability with advanced features.
