FYI: Mazda’s 2025 CX-30 lineup features exciting new tech upgrades and aesthetic options, though it retains some of its previous shortcomings.
The Mazda CX-30 continues to capture attention with its sleek design, outstanding driving dynamics, and premium interior. However, these advantages come with trade-offs, such as average fuel efficiency for the base model, limited storage, and an unconventional infotainment system. Enthusiasts will be pleased to know that the Turbo trim mitigates some of these issues while keeping the price reasonable. It’s no wonder Mazda is sticking with this formula for the 2025 model year, especially given U.S. sales surged by 33% in the first half of 2024 compared to the same period in 2023.
New Features for 2025
Alexa Built-In: For the 2025 model year, Mazda introduces Alexa Built-In, providing hands-free control over in-car climate settings and compatibility with Alexa-enabled home devices.
Mazda Online Navigation: Another new feature is Mazda Online Navigation, which offers expanded mapping data, live traffic updates, and over-the-air (OTA) map updates when connected via Mazda Connected Services. While the Mazda Connected Services come with a complimentary one-year trial, the in-car Wi-Fi hotspot is only free for three months or until 2GB of data usage is reached, whichever comes first.
Aero Gray Metallic Paint: A new paint option, Aero Gray Metallic, has been added for $450, bringing a notable color from the Mazda Miata to the CX-30 lineup.
Pricing Updates for 2025
The 2025 CX-30 sees a modest increase in manufacturer’s suggested retail prices, rising by $150 across all trims except the base model. Additionally, delivery charges have gone up from $1,375 to $1,420, contributing to a $45 increase per vehicle.

Engine Specifications and Performance
The base engine is a naturally aspirated 2.5-liter four-cylinder, producing 191 horsepower and 186 pound-feet of torque. For those seeking more power, the turbocharged 2.5-liter engine delivers 227 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque on 87 octane fuel, which increases to 250 horsepower and 320 pound-feet of torque on 93 octane. All trims are equipped with a six-speed automatic transmission, delivering power to all wheels through Mazda’s i-Active AWD system.
Enhanced Safety Features
Standard driver-assistance systems across the range enhance safety and convenience. Features like adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capability, high-beam control, and lane-keep assist come as standard offerings, ensuring peace of mind on every drive.
Conclusion
Mazda continues to refine its successful CX-30 formula for 2025, adding advanced tech features like Alexa Built-In and Mazda Online Navigation while keeping the driving experience top-notch. Despite some persistent downsides like subpar fuel economy in the base model and limited storage, the CX-30 remains a compelling choice in the compact SUV segment. The modest price increase is justified by the enhanced capabilities and new options.
