FYI: The 2025 Mini Countryman arrives with new design options, offering both electric and gasoline models.
The redesigned 2025 Mini Countryman has made a bold entrance, now available in U.S. showrooms with the choice of an electric or gasoline powertrain. Here’s what you need to know about this highly-anticipated release:
New Powertrain Options
Mini enthusiasts can choose from three distinct versions:
- Electric: The Countryman SE, starting at $46,195, comes equipped with a 66.5 kWh battery offering an estimated 212-mile range. It supports 130 kW DC fast charging, which can charge the battery from 10% to 80% in under 30 minutes. The electric model boasts a 308 horsepower dual-motor all-wheel drive system, delivering acceleration from 0-60 mph in just 5.4 seconds and a top speed of 112 mph.
- Gasoline: For those preferring traditional combustion engines, the Countryman S and the performance-oriented Countryman John Cooper Works (JCW) are available. The S model starts at $39,895 and features a 241-hp 2.0-liter turbo four-cylinder engine, mated with an eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive. The JCW model, starting at $47,895, enhances this setup with 312 hp for a more thrilling drive.
Enhanced Dimensions and Design
The new Countryman is larger than its predecessor, now measuring 174 inches in length (an increase of 5.1 inches), and standing 63.5 inches tall (a rise of 2.4 inches). This expansion results in increased storage capacity, offering 16 cubic feet with the rear seats up and 51 cubic feet when they are folded flat.
Modern Interior and Infotainment
Inside, the Countryman eliminates the traditional instrument panel, shifting essential driving information to a central, circular 9.4-inch diameter infotainment screen. An optional head-up display ensures important data is always within the driver’s line of sight. Additionally, buyers can now opt for textile surfaces on the dashboard, sports seats, and a panoramic glass roof, enhancing both comfort and style.
Advanced Driver Assistance
Driver assistance features are abundant in the 2025 Countryman, with options including an autonomous driving mode suitable for single-lane highway driving. However, this system requires constant driver supervision and operates at a top speed of 37 mph.
Unified Production and Platform
Both electric and gasoline versions of the Countryman share Mini’s FAAR platform, courtesy of parent company BMW Group, and are manufactured at the same facility in Leipzig, Germany. This ensures uniformity and quality across all models.
Final Thoughts
The 2025 Mini Countryman impresses with versatile powertrain options, modern design enhancements, and advanced technological features. Whether choosing electric for a cleaner drive or sticking with gasoline for a traditional experience, the new Countryman caters to a wide range of preferences.
