Aston Martin’s New Vanquish: A Powerhouse with 824 Horsepower
Aston Martin enthusiasts, brace yourselves. The esteemed automaker is just days away from the grand unveiling of its latest flagship grand tourer. Reclaiming the legendary Vanquish nameplate, this new model is set to redefine performance and luxury in the GT category.
The Teaser and Unveiling Date
Earlier this week, Aston Martin tantalized fans by releasing a teaser video on social media. The short clip not only provided a fleeting glimpse of the car’s design but also allowed followers to savor the thunderous roar of its new V-12 engine. Mark your calendars for September 2nd, when the Vanquish will make its much-anticipated debut.
Testing and Engine Details
The Vanquish has been rigorously tested, with camouflaged prototypes spotted navigating Germany’s famous Nurburgring circuit in recent months. The heart of this beast is an evolved version of the twin-turbo 5.2-liter V-12 engine, which has been a staple in the DBS and previous DB11 models. In the new Vanquish, this powerhouse delivers an astonishing 824 horsepower—a significant leap from the DBS’s 715 horsepower in its standard form and 759 horsepower in the DBS Ultimate special edition.
Performance and Refinement
Aston Martin has emphasized that the engine’s development focused not just on sheer power, but also on efficiency, throttle response, and overall refinement. The engineers have also ensured that the engine can achieve higher revs, promising an exhilarating driving experience.
Design Evolution
From the prototype glimpses and the teaser video, it’s evident that the Vanquish’s design takes cues from the DBS, albeit with notable enhancements. Expect a sleeker, more refined silhouette with an elongated, more robust tail. Inside, the Vanquish is set to address any shortcomings found in the DBS, incorporating elegant design touches seen in recent Aston Martin models and introducing a brand new in-house developed infotainment system.
Market Introduction
The new Vanquish is scheduled to hit the market later this year, with its arrival in the U.S. anticipated as a 2025 model. This grand tourer will not only lead Aston Martin’s front-engine lineup but also accompany the introduction of the line-topping, mid-engine Valhalla. Unlike the Vanquish, the Valhalla will feature plug-in hybrid technology and utilize a version of the AMG-sourced twin-turbo 4.0-liter V-8 engine shared with the Vantage and DB12.
