Bizzarrini Embarks on a New Era with Leadership Overhaul and Innovative Projects
Bizzarrini, the iconic Italian motorsport brand established by Giotto Bizzarrini in 1964, is accelerating into a new chapter with a series of strategic moves designed to enhance its legacy. Since being acquired by new owners in 2020, the brand has been revitalizing its commitment to top-tier design, craftsmanship, and engineering excellence. The latest significant development is the appointment of Isobel Dando as CEO, effective July 2024.
Isobel Dando’s extensive background with prestigious brands such as Rolls-Royce, Jaguar Land Rover, and MOKE makes her an invaluable addition to Bizzarrini. Her leadership is poised to drive the company toward future growth and innovation, particularly focusing on the highly anticipated Giotto program.
Dando’s appointment enhances an already stellar executive team, which includes notable figures like Ian Fenton and Dr. Ulrich Bez as Board Advisors, Chris Porritt as Chief Technical Officer, Fraser Dunn as Chief Engineer, Simon Busby as Chief Marketing and Communications Officer, Dr. Matthew Bennett as Sales Director, and Lewis Trickett as Head of Commercial and Programme. This team is perfectly positioned to advance Bizzarrini’s ambitious projects, following the successful completion of the 5300 GT Corsa Revival program, with 24 editions having been delivered to new owners.
Bizzarrini is also investing heavily in its operations and corporate structure in both Italy and the UK, underscoring its ongoing dedication to automotive excellence. Part of this strategy includes the establishment of the Centro Tecnologico di Bizzarrini (CTB) at Silverstone, which epitomizes the brand’s commitment to innovation and engineering prowess.
At the heart of Bizzarrini’s future plans is The Giotto, an all-new Hyper GT car born from the minds of legendary designer Giorgetto Giugiaro and his son Fabrizio at GFG Style. The Giotto’s design is a tribute to the classic Bizzarrini 5300 GT, featuring a bespoke carbon fiber body and an exclusive V12 engine developed in collaboration with Cosworth. This naturally aspirated engine hearkens back to Giotto Bizzarrini’s original Lamborghini V12 design and boasts a cylinder capacity of 6626cc, a homage to Bizzarrini’s birth date, June 6, 1926.
The Giotto aims to capture the spirit and innovation of its namesake, promising an exceptional driving experience that is true to Bizzarrini’s illustrious heritage.
