FYI: Rizenation’s second major event of the year, "All Stars," dazzled car enthusiasts in Maastricht, Netherlands, drawing participants from neighboring countries and the UK.
Rizenation "All Stars": A Dazzling Showcase in Maastricht
Rizenation’s latest spectacular, "All Stars," stands as their second significant event in 2024, following the "2024 Hall of Fame" in March. This time, the show ventured into the scenic city of Maastricht, Netherlands, strategically located just 15 minutes from the German-Belgian border. This prime location attracted a diverse audience from neighboring countries and the UK, adding to the event’s international flair.
The venue, Maastricht Exhibition and Congress Centre (MECC), played host to this grand affair, providing ample space for the nearly 500 cars on display. Despite its size, capturing uncluttered photographs presents a challenge at car shows, and MECC’s vastness was no exception. However, gaining early access courtesy of a vendor allowed for an hour of unobstructed exploration before the public arrived.
A Photographic Adventure
Navigating through the dense array of vehicles in such a grand exhibition demanded meticulous planning. High ceilings, LED lighting, black walls, and slightly reflective floors defined the show’s ambiance, creating both opportunities and challenges for photographers. The contrast especially highlighted bright cars such as a luminous purple Mk4 Toyota Supra and a striking gold Toyota bB.
One of the main tactics for stellar photography at these events is to be an early bird. This pre-opening hour was critical to capturing the essence of the All Stars event, spanning across three expansive halls.
Standout Attractions
Elevated Display Stages:
Modern car shows often feature elevated stages, but these can feel cramped. A prime example was the debut of the first four-door LTO BMW E36, an impressive feat yet snug in its display area.
Concession Highlights:
The surrounding concession area buzzed with intriguing finds. Notably, a pop-up tattoo studio operating amidst the vehicles garnered attention; an owner of a wide-body F430 commemorated the event with a prancing horse tattoo. Additionally, a collection of skate decks featuring iconic car models with racing liveries stole the spotlight.
Featured Vehicles
Liberty Walk Kitted Nissan GT-R:
Among the standout vehicles, a hand-painted Liberty Walk Nissan GT-R mesmerized attendees with its intricate design.
Rizenation’s Widebody Peugeot 205:
Rizenation exhibited their custom widebody Peugeot 205 at their merchandise stand. This car, featuring air suspension and large forged wheels, drew inspiration from Khyzyl Saleem’s renderings, though mistakenly assumed by some to be a ’90s Dimma kit.
High-Camber Cars:
Once rare in Europe, high-camber cars are gaining popularity. A bright red Mk4 Golf GTI epitomized this trend, exemplifying the crafted expertise involved in such builds.
Ford Sierra Base Model:
Another gem was a beautifully restored Ford Sierra, proving that even less popular models could shine with the right touch.
C4 Chevrolet Corvette:
Bright yellow and rare on European roads, this C4 Corvette turned heads, marking its presence felt among the crowd.
Toyota 86 Platform:
Due to its high cost, the Toyota 86 platform sees few quality builds in Europe. One superb example displayed featured two body kits, color-matched carbon fiber, and intricately designed custom wheels.
Race-Themed Mk1 Golf:
Arguably the highlight of the event, a race-themed Mk1 Golf showcased show-quality paintwork, center-locking BBS Motorsport wheels, and a Frankenstein engine with individual throttle bodies, making a striking impression on all who saw it.
VW Scirocco:
The VW Scirocco on 14-inch mesh-design wheels exemplified the "less is more" philosophy, capturing a timeless look.
Conclusion
While it was impossible to capture all 500 cars, this glimpse into Rizenation All Stars 2024 offers a tantalizing taste of the event’s allure. The diversity and execution of the show underscore why it is a must-see for automotive enthusiasts worldwide.
