FYI: Genesis has introduced an exclusive Black Package for the G80 sedan, enhancing its aesthetic appeal while maintaining its powerful performance.
Genesis Expands Its Black Package to the G80
Genesis fans seeking that sleek and daring "slain aesthetic" look no further. The luxury automaker has officially added an enticing Black Package to its G80 mid-size sedan line-up. This option, however, will only be available for the gas-powered G80 models, making it the fourth Genesis model to sport the alluring all-black treatment.
A Mean Looking Korean Luxury Sedan
Genesis is no stranger to elegance and power, and the new Black Package for the G80 doesn’t disappoint. Joining the ranks of the full-size G90 sedan and the GV80 and GV80 Coupe SUVs, the G80 Black Package transforms this sedan into a striking head-turner. This package includes an all-black front bumper and grille, cloaked front Genesis emblem, and blackout accents on the daylight opening molding, rear bumper trim, and the headlamp inner bezel. Even the car’s advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) radar cover gets the shadowy treatment, traditionally adorned in chrome.
Enhancing its stance, the G80 Black flaunts 20-inch black wheels featuring Rolls-Royce-style floating center caps, a step up from the standard 18-inch wheels. For those who prefer, standard G80 models offer optional upgrades to 19 or 20-inch wheels. The package completes its transformation with dark gray Genesis branding on the trunk.
Luxurious Interior with Advanced Technology
Step inside the G80 Black, and you’re immediately immersed in opulent black finishes—from air conditioning controls to console switches and paddle shifters. The interior is further enriched with dark wood trim and sprawling OLED displays for both real-time gauges and the central infotainment system. Features such as ambient lighting, a head-up display, and ventilated, quilted leather seats ensure that the G80 Black offers a blend of modern comfort and timeless elegance.
Under the Hood: Turbocharged Engines
While the Black Package primarily focuses on aesthetics, the G80’s performance remains untampered. It comes with a robust baseline: a 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine delivering 300 horsepower. For those craving more power, an upgrade to a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 is available, pumping out an impressive 375 horsepower. Both engine options are paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and available all-wheel drive, ensuring any road can be conquered in style.
Currently, there is no confirmation from Genesis on whether the G80 Black Package will be offered in the U.S. market. However, enthusiasts hope to see this sleek addition to U.S. showrooms soon.
