FYI: Witness the most exclusive drag race event, featuring the world’s rarest supercars, hosted by the prestigious Supercar Owners Circle (SOC).
The Rarest Supercars Collide in a High-Octane Showdown
In a thrilling new video, YouTube automotive expert Schmee gives us an intimate look at one of the world’s most exclusive drag racing events. This high-octane spectacle took place in the picturesque region of Puglia, Italy, under the auspices of the Supercar Owners Circle (SOC).
Inside the Exclusive Drag Racing Event
SOC’s event showcased a competition that was nothing short of extraordinary. Invitation-only and restricted to SOC members, this event brought together some of the rarest and most exotic supercars in existence. From new special editions to historic legends, these cars have two things in common: they are extremely valuable and astonishingly fast.
Imagine a Mercedes-Benz CLK GTR racing against a Porsche 911 GT1, reminiscent of the 1998 GT Championship. Or consider the unlikely but breathtaking matchup between a Koenigsegg Jesko Attack and a Ferrari 812 Competizione. That’s the level of intrigue and rarity you can expect at this SOC event. Additionally, supercars like the Aston Martin Valkyrie, Lamborghini Revuelto, Bugatti Chiron, and Mercedes-AMG One were among the prestigious participants.
Other elite brands such as Pagani, Dallara, Spyker, and Gordon Murray Automotive were also represented, making the event a veritable feast for automotive aficionados.
Eligibility for the World’s Most Exclusive Drag Race
SOC coordinates with top-notch car manufacturers and luxury brands to create unparalleled events around the globe. According to the company’s website, SOC Weekend isn’t simply a concours or a rally; it’s a harmonious blend of both, crafted for the elite.
"We have held events in the UK, Germany, France, Italy, Hong Kong, UAE, and Switzerland, and are now expanding into the Middle East, Asia, and North America. These events are carefully curated to ensure that only the most prestigious and uncompromising supercars of the past and present are eligible to take part."
Meticulous attention to detail and an uncompromising level of selectivity ensure that only the finest vehicles make the cut. Limited-edition supercars and rare historic beauties are the only entries permitted. The final decision on both club and event membership is made by an admissions committee comprised of current members and external automotive experts.
SOC members reap numerous benefits, including exclusive access to high-end automotive events and luxury lifestyle gatherings hosted by brand partners. These partners, as noted on the SOC website, include industry giants such as McLaren, Lamborghini, Zagato, Daimler, Porsche, and Koenigsegg, to name a few.
The Lavish World of SOC Members
Currently, 65 supercars are registered to participate in these elite events, with an average value of $1.2 million per car. A significant 54% of the members are based in Europe, and 76% of the global members are private car collectors—individuals who are unequivocally affluent. Mere ownership of a Lamborghini or Ferrari won’t suffice for entry; you must have a truly unique, one-off car to even request to participate.
Though it may seem a bit lofty for most, attending one of these exclusive SOC events is undoubtedly a dream for many car enthusiasts. To see some of the rarest and fastest cars on the globe going head-to-head is an opportunity of a lifetime.
