Prominent Executives from Tesla and GM Join EVgo to Bolster Charging Network
EVgo, a leading electric vehicle (EV) charging company in the U.S., has recently welcomed three high-profile hires from Tesla and General Motors (GM). This strategic move aims to enhance the company’s capabilities amidst the rapid evolution of the EV charging industry.
New Talent Onboard
The new additions to the EVgo team include Martin Sukul, Jeff Inhofer, and Alex Keros. These individuals bring a wealth of experience from their previous roles at Tesla and GM:
- Martin Sukul: Former Lead Architect and Senior Management of Charging Systems at Tesla, with over 14 years of service, is now EVgo’s Executive Vice President of Engineering.
- Jeff Inhofer: Previously a Mechanical Engineer for Residential Solar at Tesla, he takes up the position of Vice President of Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment (EVSE) at EVgo.
- Alex Keros: The former Director of EV Infrastructure Development at GM, with a 17-year tenure, joins EVgo as the Senior Vice President of Product.
Strategic Responsibilities
In their new roles at EVgo, these executives will be pivotal in driving the company’s technological and strategic advancements:
- Martin Sukul will oversee the EVSE hardware program, focusing on reliability, quality, software, and data management.
- Jeff Inhofer will build upon his legacy at Tesla by concentrating on the development of next-generation EVSE.
- Alex Keros is poised to lead comprehensive product and services strategies, market research, and product requirements, steering EVgo towards innovative solutions for EV owners.
EVgo’s Growth and Industry Position
EVgo President Dennis Kish emphasizes that these hires are crucial for the company’s ongoing efforts to expand and improve the public EV charging infrastructure. He stated, "Investing in both network enhancements and top-tier talent is essential for delivering an excellent charging experience for EV drivers."
EVgo currently operates over 1,000 DC fast-charging stations, serving a significant portion of the U.S. population. Notably, more than 145 million people live within 10 miles of an EVgo charger, underlining the company’s substantial reach.
