FYI: Pagani Zonda’s Final Act, the “Arrivederci,” is Set to Steal the Show at The Quail
The Pagani Zonda, a timeless supercar that has captured the hearts of enthusiasts worldwide, continues to make headlines despite its official discontinuation in 2011. Although succeeded by the Huayra and recently by the Utopia in 2022, the Zonda refuses to fade into automotive history. Pagani is on the brink of unveiling a never-before-seen Zonda, marking the 140th and final model in this illustrious series. The final creation, aptly named “Arrivederci,” signifies a poignant farewell to an iconic era.
### A Grand Finale Unveiling
Scheduled to make its grand debut on August 16 at The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering—one of the highlight events during the 2024 Monterey Car Week in California—the Arrivederci is already generating significant buzz. Esteemed American car collector Chris Singh has revealed on social media that he is the proud owner of this final Zonda, adding even more anticipation for its public reveal.
### Design and Features
Though no official images have been released by Pagani, British firm Modena Design, known for its computer-generated renderings of supercars, shared images in February that align closely with Pagani’s descriptions. These renderings showcase a Zonda Roadster body accentuated by panels made from a unique composite material featuring silver-finished Altex, with striking blue and red accent stripes. Complementing this, the interior is designed in red leather to match Singh’s Pagani Huayra La Monza Lisa.
### Performance Specs
While exact powertrain details remain under wraps, it is expected that the Arrivederci will be equipped with a 7.3-liter V12 engine, consistent with the latest Zonda conversions. This engine, in its 760 spec, produces an astonishing 750 horsepower, ensuring that the final Zonda is nothing short of a high-performance masterpiece.
### A Legacy of Excellence
The arrival of the Arrivederci signifies the end of a remarkable journey that began at the 1999 Geneva Motor Show with the debut of the first Zonda model, the C12. This original model, used for crash tests and homologation, was meticulously restored by Pagani and unveiled in 2019 to commemorate the Zonda’s 20th anniversary. The Arrivederci stands as a symbolic culmination of this storied legacy.
### Future Prospects and Related Debuts
Monterey Car Week, running until August 18 and culminating with the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, promises to be an electrifying event for car enthusiasts. Alongside the Arrivederci, Pagani will also be introducing its new Utopia Roadster, featuring a V12 engine and a seven-speed manual transmission.
