Ford Integrates Tesla-Inspired Karaoke into Its Vehicles
Ford Motor Company has raised the bar in in-car entertainment by introducing a unique feature borrowed from Tesla: karaoke. Tesla first released its karaoke feature, aptly named Caraoke, in late 2019 as part of a significant v10 software update. This update also included other entertainment options like Netflix and YouTube streaming.
### Ford’s New Karaoke Feature
Ford plans to debut the karaoke feature with the Stingray Karaoke App, which will initially be available on the F-150 Lightning electric pickup and will later roll out to the Mustang Mach-E. This move aims to enhance the user experience by adding a fun and engaging activity for drivers and passengers.
“Owners, their friends, and their family can enjoy karaoke, courtesy of the Stingray Karaoke App, right from the in-vehicle screen while parked and on the go. It’s an awesome way to spend time with family and friends while stopped to charge! Owners and passengers can find a wide selection of songs and music styles from Rock, Country, Pop, R&B, Latin, K&J Pop, and family-friendly tunes for all ages. Songs are available in 38 languages, including 10 languages in local characters such as Thai, Hebrew, Russian, and Greek, plus a multilingual interface with 36 languages available,” commented a Ford spokesperson.
### A Fun Feature for All Ages
While some may see such features as trivial novelties, they bring an element of fun that can make long drives and charging stops more enjoyable. Karaoke can be an entertaining way for friends, family, and kids to pass the time, providing a unique twist to traditional road trips or daily commutes.
### Expanding Beyond EVs
Ford is not limiting this feature to its electric vehicles. Looking ahead, the karaoke feature will also be available on the 2025 models of several popular Ford and Lincoln vehicles, including the Ford Explorer, Lincoln Navigator, Lincoln Aviator, and Lincoln Nautilus.
