FYI: Anticipation builds as the "Tesla Takedown" group plans its largest demonstration yet, targeting over 277 Tesla stores and Supercharger stations worldwide on March 29.
Tesla Takedown Movement Gains Momentum
The initiative known as "Tesla Takedown" has rapidly gained traction, fueled by growing discontent towards Tesla’s CEO Elon Musk and his alleged political activities. Sparked by Musk’s association with former President Donald Trump and his involvement with the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), the movement condemns Musk’s influence, noting that a substantial part of his wealth stems from Tesla.
In recent months, protests against Tesla have escalated to alarming levels. Incidents of vandalism have been reported at Tesla stores and Supercharger stations, involving acts of violence such as arson and shooting. These acts have prompted President Trump to label them as domestic terrorism, echoing sentiments of urgency expressed by Attorney General Pam Bondi, who vows that perpetrators will face justice.
Demonstration Day Announced
The group aims to make a statement on March 29 by organizing events at over 500 locations globally. A call for action features prominently in their plans, highlighting 277 Tesla stores as primary targets for these gatherings. Supercharger stations have also been identified as suitable locations for the protests.
Alice Hu, Executive Director of Planet Over Profit, equates the movement’s mission to a fight against authoritarianism, stating, "These wannabe authoritarians can try to intimidate us from exercising our First Amendment rights, but they can’t stop us from fighting back."
Calls for Nonviolent Protests
Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) emphasized nonviolence in potential demonstrations, underscoring the importance of maintaining peace while standing firm in their advocacy. Crockett, whose birthday coincides with the demonstration date, poignantly remarked, "All I want to see happen on my birthday is for Elon to be taken down."
As the date of action approaches, the "Tesla Takedown" movement appears poised to draw both national and international attention to its cause. The events organized are expected to further fuel the dialogue surrounding Musk’s influence and the broader challenges faced by electric vehicle makers amidst shifting political landscapes.
