Limited to a production run of just 77 units, all explicitly tailored for track prowess, a few enthusiasts dared to dream bigger. British motorsport and engineering stalwarts, Lanzante, answered this call, transforming the 935 Tributo into a street-legal marvel at the behest of at least two passionate owners.
Lanzante, the esteemed outfit celebrated for its triumphant 1995 Le Mans 24 Hours campaign with the McLaren F1 GTR, showcased this audacious conversion at the 2024 Goodwood Festival of Speed in the UK. Adding to the spectacle, they also presented a classic 930-generation 911 enhanced with a cutting-edge F1 engine and a daring McLaren drift car built on a 650S chassis, P1 body, and rotary engine.
The transformation of the 935 Tributo from track star to street legend took an intensive 18-month period, from initial consultations to its grand reveal at Goodwood. Lanzante emphasized the extensive modifications undertaken, including:
- A bespoke suspension system to conquer the unpredictability of public roads.
- Newly designed wheels.
- An overhauled braking system complete with a handbrake.
- Revamped electronics to ensure smooth operation on public highways.

A particularly challenging aspect of this conversion was installing regulation-compliant headlights. Lanzante ingeniously incorporated the new lights into the hood’s air vent cutouts, ensuring the design remained faithful to the original factory aesthetics.
Notably, the 935 Tributo retains its ferocious powertrain, mirroring the specs of the road-approved 911 GT2 RS. It roars with a twin-turbo 3.8-liter flat-six engine, delivering an astounding 700 horsepower to the rear wheels through a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
Lanzante is no stranger to street-legal transformations of track-exclusive titans, having previously brought the Pagani Zonda Revolution and McLaren P1 GTR to public roads with equal flair.
