FYI: Lucid has rolled out a dynamic new software version for its Air luxury electric sedan, enhancing its in-car tech and driving assist features.
### Lucid Air Elevates Driving Experience with Lucid UX 2.4 Software Update
The Lucid Air all-electric luxury sedan is receiving a significant tech upgrade with the launch of Lucid UX 2.4. This latest software update, currently being dispatched as an over-the-air update to U.S. vehicles, introduces a range of new functionalities designed to enhance both convenience and safety.
#### Enhanced Visualization and Driving Assistance
One of the standout features of Lucid UX 2.4 is the 3D lane visualization, now part of the car’s digital gauge cluster. This sophisticated visualization offers a Tesla-like display, showing real-time traffic alongside and behind the vehicle, complete with speed limits and enabled driving assistants. For vehicles equipped with the optional DreamDrive Pro advanced driver assistance system (ADAS), this adds another layer of safety and awareness.
Adding to the adaptive cruise control system is the Curve Control feature. This allows the vehicle to automatically adjust its speed when navigating winding roads, providing a smoother and safer driving experience by adapting to the road layout in real-time.
#### Improved Lane Change and Highway Assistance
Lucid UX 2.4 also introduces Driver-Initiated Lane Change Assist. By pressing the turn signal and keeping hands on the steering wheel, drivers can initiate lane changes on the highway. The Highway Assist system has also seen improvements, now able to engage on curves thanks to high-definition maps. These maps offer detailed information on HOV lanes, exits, merges, and lane splits, enhancing the vehicle’s navigational accuracy.
For those frequently stuck in traffic, the Extended Stop and Go feature is a welcome addition. This allows the car to automatically resume moving in stop-and-go traffic even after long stops, as long as the driver is attentive and looking ahead.
#### New In-Car Voice Assistant
With the latest update, Lucid has introduced its proprietary Lucid Assistant, replacing Amazon’s Alexa. This new hands-free voice assistant responds to “Hey Lucid!” or the microphone button on the steering wheel. It allows drivers to control navigation, audio, climate settings, and even heated seats through simple voice commands.
#### Wireless Apple CarPlay
Another exciting addition is the ability to use wireless Apple CarPlay directly on the Lucid Air’s instrument cluster, expanding its usability beyond just the center screen.
#### Faster Mobile App Connectivity
The Lucid Mobile App has also been optimized for quicker connectivity with the vehicle, ensuring drivers have seamless access to their car’s features and settings on the go.
#### Safety and Responsibility
Despite the advanced safety features, Lucid emphasizes that these updates do not render the car fully autonomous. Drivers must remain attentive and cannot solely rely on the car’s sensors to avoid accidents.
### Conclusion
Lucid Motors continues to push the envelope with the Lucid Air by incorporating advanced technologies aimed at improving the driving experience. With the Lucid UX 2.4 update, owners can expect enhanced visualization, smarter driving assistance, and a more intuitive in-car experience thanks to the new Lucid Assistant.
