FYI: Ford’s highly favored Mustang Mach-E lineup sees a notable price adjustment and feature enhancement for the 2024 model year.
Ford Revises Mustang Mach-E Pricing and Features for 2024
The much-talked-about "mid-year price cut" has finally reached the Ford Mustang Mach-E. Back in March, Ford initially reduced the price of the 2023 model to clear out inventory and strengthen its standing in the rapidly growing EV market, holding steady in the No. 2 spot behind Tesla. However, recent dealer bulletins indicated a significant price increase for the 2024 Mustang Mach-E, raising concerns among potential buyers. Despite these notices, Ford opted for a relatively modest price hike, adding just $600 to $1,100 compared to the lowered 2023 prices.
New Pricing Details for the 2024 Mach-E
Ford’s latest pricing update modifies the MSRP of various trims, with some witnessing a $1,000 increase while one particular trim sees a price reduction by the same amount. Additionally, the delivery charge has been adjusted, now set at $1,995, a $195 increase from the March figure.
Here’s how the new prices break down:
- Select RWD: $41,990 (+$195)
- Select AWD: $45,490 (+$195)
- Premium RWD: $45,990 (+$195)
- Premium AWD: $48,990 (+$195)
- GT: $56,990 (+$1,195)
- Rallye: $60,990 (-$1,000)
Notably, the entry-level Mach-E Select equipped with the Extended Range battery has also seen a price increase of $1,195, now priced at $45,490. This configuration offers an impressive 300-mile range and is the least expensive route to obtaining all-wheel drive and an additional 70 miles over the standard 230-mile range.
Key Upgrades and Enhancements
In April, Ford unveiled performance and range enhancements for the Mustang Mach-E. The GT trim, in particular, now boasts a faster 0 to 60 mph acceleration time of 3.3 seconds, eclipsing both the Tesla Model Y Performance and Porsche Macan 4 Electric. Across the board, all trims have seen an increase in driving range. The Premium trim now offers 250 miles with the standard battery and up to 320 miles with the extended-range unit.
While the entry-level Select trim’s range remains listed at 230 and 300 miles for the standard and extended packs respectively, it’s unclear whether it misses out on the upgrades or if this detail simply hasn’t been updated on Ford’s website. Additionally, the GT’s range has seen a modest increase, now reaching 280 miles, while the new-for-2024 Mach-E Rally trim achieves 265 miles per charge.
Enhanced Charging Speeds and Infotainment
Ford has also made strides in charging capabilities, with the extended range battery now capable of charging from 10 to 80 percent in just over 36 minutes—an 8.8-minute improvement from its predecessor. The standard range model also sees faster charging times, achieving the same range in just over 32 minutes, speeding up by 5.7 minutes.
Furthermore, the 2024 Mach-E’s infotainment system has been revamped, featuring a new interface and streamlined controls for USB and Bluetooth functions. A redesigned settings screen consolidates options onto a single page, reducing the need for excessive scrolling and making it more user-friendly.
Incentives and Buyer Bonuses
While the 2024 Mustang Mach-E is not eligible for the federal tax credit, Ford has introduced several enticing incentives. Buyers can benefit from $750 bonus cash, 0% APR for 72 months through Ford Credit, and a 90-day payment deferral. If considering the 2023 model, the bonus cash offer is even more attractive at $2,750.
In summary, the 2024 Mustang Mach-E brings a blend of enhanced performance, increased range, and improved user experience while maintaining competitive pricing. With its attractive incentives, it’s still a compelling option for those entering the electric vehicle market.
