Rare Car Collection Discovered in Alabama Barn
A car enthusiast recently stumbled upon a remarkable barn find in Alabama that housed an impressive collection of classic cars, including several rare Corvettes. This "one-in-a-million" find near Birmingham contained 23 classic cars, such as Corvettes, a Porsche, and multiple Mustangs, all with astonishingly low mileage.
A Hidden Treasure
The cars belonged to Earl Trammel, a dedicated car collector who passed away in 2022. Upon his passing, the vehicle collection came into the possession of his wife, who then decided to sell the entire batch. The collection’s discovery was made by John Clay Wolfe, a YouTube content creator and CEO of Give Me the Vin. Wolfe is no stranger to significant car collections, having recently evaluated an $800,000 haul in Wisconsin. Despite his extensive experience, Wolfe was left awestruck by Trammel’s barn.
Highlights of the Collection
Several Corvettes in Trammel’s collection were in near-mint condition with very few miles on the clock:
- 1988 35th Anniversary Corvette: Only 25 miles
- 1998 Corvette Convertible Indy Pace Car: Just 23 miles
- 1990 Corvette ZR1: Only 25 miles
- Corvette Stingray Coupes (1971, 1974, 1979): Ranging from 41 miles to 30,000 miles
In addition to these standout Corvettes, the collection also featured a:
- 1973 Lincoln Continental: 830 miles
- 1987 Buick Grand National
- 1996 Porsche C4S: 600 miles
A Car Lover’s Dream
Wolfe described the discovery as a "one-in-a-million barn find." He stated, "I buy and sell more than 50,000 vehicles a year and hold the world record for selling 1,500 cars in one day, but I’ve never come across anything like this." Wolfe admired the collection’s diversity, highlighting how it includes everything from a practically new ZR1 to a limited edition 35th Anniversary Corvette, still wrapped in factory plastic.
The Future of the Collection
The incredibly well-maintained collection is set to be displayed in the coming months, sure to captivate car enthusiasts everywhere. Given the uniqueness and pristine condition of these vehicles, there’s no doubt they’ll generate significant interest and excitement in the automotive community.
