FYI: The Bugatti Chiron, named after legendary racer Louis Chiron, continues to dominate the hypercar world with its newest special editions featuring cutting-edge performance and rare exclusivity.
—
Named after the renowned Monégasque racing driver Louis Chiron, the Bugatti Chiron made its debut as the Vision Gran Turismo concept car at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show. Production started the following year, and the Chiron aimed to surpass its predecessor, the Veyron, in every conceivable way. Designed to be the world’s fastest, most exclusive, and most expensive production car, the Chiron retained the 8.0-liter turbocharged W16 engine from the Veyron but was upgraded to produce an astonishing 1,500 horsepower.
### Performance and Specifications
Power in the Chiron is delivered to all four wheels via a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission and a Haldex coupling, mainly driving the rear wheels unless additional traction is required. Limited initially to 261 mph due to tire constraints, the Chiron could accelerate from 0-186 mph in just 13.6 seconds. Production was capped at 500 units by the end of 2022, with various special editions released throughout its lifecycle.
### Upcoming Auction at Monterey
RM Sotheby’s will feature two exclusive special edition Chirons at their 2024 Monterey auction from August 15-17. The featured vehicles are a 2023 Bugatti Chiron Super Sport and a 2021 Bugatti Chiron Sport Noire, both boasting low mileage and unique features.

## 2023 Bugatti Chiron Super Sport – Estimate: $3,750,000 – $4,250,000
Limited to around 80 units, the Chiron Super Sport pushes the limits with a top speed of 273 mph. This version features an elongated body and advanced aerodynamics to enhance high-speed stability. Design elements such as air curtains and an extended rear significantly boost its performance.
Delivered new in April 2023, this particular Chiron Super Sport flaunts exceptionally low mileage at just 243 miles. It features a striking two-tone exterior and a luxurious Havana leather interior. Its pristine condition and bespoke specifications make it a prime collectible.

## 2021 Bugatti Chiron Sport Noire – Estimate: $3,300,000 – $3,800,000
The 2021 Bugatti Chiron Sport Noire, with a mere 418 miles on the odometer, is an exceptionally rare and visually striking example of automotive artistry. Produced as part of a limited 20-car run, the Noire edition features a dramatic matte carbon fiber exterior, accented with Nocturne black on the mirrors, wheels, brake calipers, and signature horseshoe grille. Inside, the cabin remains sleek with Beluga Black leather and black carbon fiber accents.

Both these spectacular editions of the Chiron highlight Bugatti’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of luxury and performance. Whether you’re a seasoned collector or a hypercar enthusiast, these offerings at RM Sotheby’s 2024 Monterey auction are not to be missed.
