Tesla teams up with LiveOne for an innovative update to its in-car streaming services, following a significant deal amendment finalized in October. Historically, Tesla vehicles have featured LiveOne’s music streaming via Slacker. However, the new agreement, effective as of October, lays out transformative business strategies and updated terms:
- Starting October 1, 2024, the music streaming interface in Tesla vehicles will replace existing buttons with LiveOne’s dedicated button.
- LiveOne 2.0 is set to launch, granting subscribers access to an expansive music library across all devices.
- The new framework allows 1.9 million current subscribers to convert to Premium or Plus service levels.
- There is an anticipated threefold increase in Average Revenue Per User (ARPU) with these changes.
- By December 1, 2024, Tesla will cease financial support for LiveOne products among select customers, although discounted music packages will remain available exclusively for all Tesla owners.
- Tesla will continue to financially support LiveOne for existing users under prior arrangements indefinitely.
