### Tesla’s Cybertruck Gears Up with Battery Armor and Rock Sliders
Tesla’s highly anticipated Cybertruck is set to become even tougher with new aftermarket additions being introduced at the end of 2024. These add-ons, consisting of rock sliders and battery armor, are designed to further fortify the all-electric pickup truck, making it more resilient against extreme challenges.
#### Enhancing Durability with New Accessories
Lead Engineer Wes Morrill took to social media platform X to discuss the new enhancements following a controversial stunt that featured a Cybertruck crashing into fences. The stunt allegedly resulted in damage to the vehicle’s radiator, supplying fodder for Tesla critics to point out potential design flaws.
According to Morrill, the damage during the stunt was largely due to users removing the Cybertruck’s stock bumper and aluminum skid plate. “Battery armor and Rock sliders will be available as a retrofit option end of this year. Also, if you plan to drive into fences, probably best not to remove the front bumper and aluminum skid plate that come stock,” Morrill stated emphatically in his post.
#### Criticisms Met with Practical Solutions
Tesla’s new accessories address feedback from stunts and criticisms aimed at the Cybertruck’s structural integrity. The robust design and innovative features of the Cybertruck draw significant interest, but also considerable scrutiny. The vehicle’s polarizing design makes it a popular subject for social media influencers, often leading to exaggerated “tests” and stunts that push the truck to its limits.
These upcoming accessories aim to silence critics by providing even greater protection and durability. Much like body armor requires its protective plates to function effectively, the Cybertruck requires its original parts to maintain its resilience in extreme tests.
#### The New Standard for Electric Pickup Trucks
Tesla’s commitment to continuous improvement solidifies the Cybertruck as a stand-out vehicle in the rapidly growing electric truck market. Rock sliders will protect the sides and undercarriage from off-road obstacles, while battery armor will shield the vehicle’s vital components during harsh conditions.
These accessories are not just an upgrade but a testament to Tesla’s ability to adapt and respond to user feedback creatively and efficiently. Morrill’s proactive announcement illustrates Tesla’s dedication to making the Cybertruck a durable and reliable vehicle, even in the face of relentless criticism and offbeat stunts.
