FYI: Tesla’s revolutionary Supercharger site in Southern California has nearly completed the installation of its second movie screen frame.
Tesla’s Diner and Supercharger Site Nears Completion with Second Movie Screen Installation
Tesla’s innovative diner, drive-in theater, and Supercharger hub in Southern California is getting closer to full operation. The installation of the frame for the second movie screen signifies a vital milestone in this unique project. The update comes a few months after the first screen was erected, marking significant progress for fans and customers alike.
Over the past several months, Tesla has been steadily developing this much-anticipated Supercharger site in Los Angeles. The complex features not just charging stalls but also a full diner and a drive-in movie theater. The second movie screen, a component eagerly awaited by enthusiasts, has finally been added to the site. Last week, work teams cleared power lines obstructing the frame’s construction, and as of Monday, the frame stands fully erected, as documented by local Tesla enthusiast Andy from 247Tesla and shared with Teslarati.
Key Milestone Achieved
For the past nine months, construction crews have been working tirelessly on building out this project since Tesla broke ground last September. Although the first movie screen frame was set up in March, recent efforts have focused on completing the restaurant’s exterior and interior structures and refining the parking lot layout.
A Concept Born in 2018
The idea for this groundbreaking Supercharger site came from Tesla’s CEO, Elon Musk, back in 2018. He envisioned a retro-style drive-in theater paired with a Supercharger station, complete with a diner featuring waitstaff on roller skates and rock ‘n’ roll music playing in the background. In typical Musk fashion, the diner was also set to showcase movie clips from classic films.
Final Touches and Features
The diner building itself is designed with multi-level seating, allowing patrons to enjoy meals while watching movie clips as their electric vehicles charge. According to the plans, the site at 7001 W. Santa Monica Blvd. will host around 32 charging stalls, making it a substantial addition to Tesla’s charging infrastructure.
