Tesla has announced the introduction of a new Model 3 variant in the United States that will cost less than $35,000 after taking advantage of the federal electric vehicle tax credit.
This new addition, dubbed the Model 3 Long Range Rear-Wheel-Drive, represents one of Tesla’s most strategic EVs to date. At an impressively affordable price, drivers can enjoy a significant range of over 360 miles, rapid acceleration, and a top speed that rivals many luxury vehicles.
Tesla Model 3 Rear Wheel Drive
Starting at $34,990 after the $7,500 federal tax credit, the Model 3 Rear Wheel Drive emerges as the most cost-effective model in Tesla’s lineup, priced $4,000 lower than the standard RWD configuration.
This vehicle boasts an EPA-estimated 363 miles of range and reaches a maximum speed of 125 MPH. Further enhancing its allure, it can accelerate from 0 to 60 MPH in a swift 4.9 seconds.

In addition to the U.S., Tesla has also made this model available in Puerto Rico.
Tesla for under $30,000
While the federal tax credit effectively reduces the car’s price to $34,990, Tesla also considers the $5,000 saved on gas over a five-year period. This further reduces the hypothetical cost to just $29,999.
At this price point, the range and performance are hardly paralleled in the current market. Few electric vehicles can compete with these specifications and pricing.
However, it’s important to note that Tesla doesn’t currently offer leasing options for this vehicle.
First Deliveries
Tesla is gearing up to deliver this new configuration by month’s end, with delivery estimates between July and August 2024.
Earlier this year, Tesla introduced this new Model 3 design, referred to by many as “Highland,” within the United States. This updated model features refined exterior shapes, new headlights, improved suspension, superior handling, and a more minimalist interior design.

I drove the new Tesla Model 3, here’s what got better
Overall, Tesla’s move to offer a Model 3 at such an attractive price with exceptional range and performance is commendable and likely to boost sales significantly.
In recent years, the Model 3’s demand has been overshadowed by the Model Y. Introducing a competitive sedan option alongside the successful crossover lineup will undoubtedly be advantageous for both Tesla and its consumers.

Wow, this is amazing news! Finally, an affordable Tesla with great range and performance. Kudos to Tesla for making EVs more accessible.
Another overhyped product from Tesla. They always promise the moon, but the reality is different. Let’s see how many delays this one will have.
This sounds too good to be true. Are there any hidden costs?
I think the tax credit is already deducted from the price, so that’s pretty transparent.
Yes, but remember there’s no leasing option, which could be a dealbreaker for some.
OMG, just when I thought I would save money, Tesla releases a new model. Bye-bye savings!
Lol, I feel ya! It’s so tempting!
I’m confused. So with the tax credit and gas savings, this will cost around $30k? Sounds like Tesla math 🤔
Yes, it’s interesting how they calculate cost savings. But the range and specs are really impressive!
Exactly! It’s a great marketing trick, but still, $34,990 is not bad for what you’re getting.
