FYI: Tesla Streamlines Cybertruck Wrap Options, Retaining Only The Most Popular Colors

Tesla has made significant cutbacks to its in-house Cybertruck wrap options, reducing the previously available eleven wraps to just three. This change suggests the company faced limited demand for such a wide array of customization choices.

Cutting Back on Customization

Initially, Tesla offered its stainless steel Cybertruck customers some personalization options by providing wraps in select markets like Texas and California. These wraps allowed the owners to protect their vehicle’s unique exoskeleton and add a personal touch. At launch, wrap options included Matte Black and Satin White, which then expanded to five and eventually eleven choices.

Limited Availability

However, the wraps are now entirely discontinued in Texas and narrowed down to three colors in California. As per DriveTesla reports, the available colors are Satin Rose Gold, Satin Stealth Black, and Satin Ceramic White. The Rose Gold option is priced at $6,500, while the Black and White options cost $6,000 each.

Possible Reasons for Reduction

Tesla has not provided a detailed explanation for eliminating most of the color options. It seems likely that the limited demand for the more extensive color range led to this decision. Keeping the most popular colors such as Satin Rose Gold, Satin Stealth Black, and Satin Ceramic White likely reflects customer preferences and market demands.

Benefits of Wraps

These wraps serve dual purposes: aiding in the personalization of the Cybertruck and providing an additional layer of protection to its stainless steel body. While wraps can help maintain the vehicle’s appearance, Cybertruck owners may also opt for them to avoid the tedious task of cleaning fingerprints, an issue inherent to the stainless steel finish. Without a wrap, keeping the Cybertruck clean might require regular use of a rag and some cleaner, often glass cleaner being the tool of choice.
