A Year in the Making
Creating this jaw-dropping effect wasn’t straightforward. Rolls-Royce dedicated more than a year to experimenting with the paint’s chemistry, application timings, and base coat to realize the client’s vision. The remarkable finish consists of seven layers of lacquer, including a special pearlescent coat infused with fine magnesium fluoride and aluminum flakes. The result? A deep metallic sheen in low light that transforms into a vivid technicolor spectacle under bright sunlight.
Inspired by Previous Masterpieces
The Spectre Lunaflair’s concept drew significant inspiration from another bespoke creation, the Phantom Syntopia. Unveiled in 2023, the Phantom Syntopia showcased a dark, iridescent Liquid Noir finish that captivated the new client’s imagination. Seeking a lighter, more luminous adaptation, they commissioned the Rolls-Royce Bespoke Collective to craft a vehicle reflecting their fascination with the lunar halo phenomenon.
A Symphony of Colors
Inside the Spectre Lunaflair, the intricate color palette of Navy Blue, White, and Peony Pink echoes the hues seen during a lunar halo. This theme adorns the seats, doors, and even the Starlight Headliner, providing an immersive celestial experience. The dual-tone steering wheel, featuring a Navy Blue outer and an Arctic White inner, further accentuates this cosmic design.
Exclusivity to the Max
Only one Spectre Lunaflair exists, and the unique Lunaflair paint finish is reserved exclusively for its commissioning patron. This rarity elevates the vehicle to an unprecedented level of exclusivity, making it a true masterpiece of automotive art.
