The 130Y Edition boasts a significant 15 percent increase in downforce compared to the standard GT3, thanks to its expanded rear wing that optimizes aerodynamic performance. Inspired by Formula 1 and DTM race cars, its Drag Reduction System ensures it achieves top speeds exceeding 196 mph. Carbon brake discs, another nod to Formula 1 technology, enhance its stopping power.
Record-Breaking Feats
The 130Y Edition’s unparalleled engineering prowess isn’t just theoretical; it’s proven on the track. A prototype of the vehicle, piloted by Mercedes-AMG Performance Driver Jules Gounon, shattered the GT car track record at the legendary Mount Panorama Circuit in Australia by an astounding 2.074 seconds, clocking in a lap time of 1 minute and 56.605 seconds.

Echoing its historic roots, the design of the 130Y Edition draws inspiration from iconic Mercedes-Benz race cars like the 1952’s 300 SL W 194 and the 1955 SLR 300 models. Each of the 13 units comes with a package of exclusive enhancements, including a custom car cover, Mercedes-AMG x PUMA racing gear, a bespoke BELL racing helmet, and a personalized bag matching the seat upholstery.
