Tesla Cybertruck Owner’s Ice Cream Business Halted Due to Vandalism Incident
A Tesla Cybertruck owner has had to temporarily close his small business this summer after his all-electric pickup truck was vandalized. Despite the perpetrator being apprehended, the owner has opted not to press charges.
Incident Details and Impact
Daniel Herres, who operates Cyber Cream Dayton, an ice cream business run out of his Tesla Cybertruck, shared the unfortunate event on his business’ Facebook page. According to Herres, the incident occurred in broad daylight, resulting in the complete shattering of the truck’s windows. Tesla informed him that replacement parts would be unavailable until September, forcing Herres to pause his operations.
Details of the Vandalism
Speaking to WHIO TV 7 News, Herres recounted that he was at home when he heard the sound of glass shattering. Reviewing footage from his Ring video camera, he saw a person, later identified as 29-year-old Courtney Piotrowski, drive into his driveway, exit her vehicle, and break all of the truck’s windows. Once she finished, Piotrowski returned to her car and drove away.
Impact on Children and Additional Vandalism
During the attack, two children were in the back seat of the Cybertruck. "There were two kids in the backseat, and they were both crying. They just witnessed something really bizarre and strange happen," Herres said, emphasizing the distress caused by the incident.
Piotrowski was arrested shortly after the vandalism. Police discovered she had also vandalized another property nearby. Prior to the attack on the Tesla, she had overturned two propane tanks at another residence. Officers linked Piotrowski to previous incidents of criminal damage and multiple traffic complaints in the area.
Responses and Community Impact
Herres mentioned that he had never seen Piotrowski before the incident. “I feel really sorry for the children, and we just really wish the best for everyone. We want everyone to come out ok with this,” he expressed, showing concern for all parties involved.

Wow that’s just sad. Why the lady do such thing? Poor kids, must been very scary for them.
Thats why you should never trust these new fancy trucks!!! Always problems. I bet it cost a fortune to fix!!
This could be avoided if Tesla had better security. Like seriously, who cant see a person smashing windows in broad daylight??
yeah ur right, tesla should really improve their security features.
Not sure about that, sometimes bad things just happen no matter what.
Yeah, this is exactly why I’m going to stick to my old trusty diesel truck. No crazy window smashing and no problem getting parts.
Maybe she just wanted to see if the Cybertruck’s windows are really unbreakable like they say. SPOILER ALERT: they not! 😂
