FYI: Volkswagen’s Lease Rates for 2024 ID.4 Make Electric Driving More Accessible
As we’ve recently explored, numerous car manufacturers are grappling with the challenge of producing entry-level electric vehicles (EVs) that strike a balance between affordability and profitability. However, this doesn’t hinder consumers, especially with the availability of great leasing deals such as the one on the Volkswagen ID.4.
Volkswagen has recently reduced the lease prices for the 2024 ID.4. Now, you can lease this innovative EV for just $219 per month over 36 months, with a $3,499 down payment and an annual mileage cap of 10,000 miles. This down payment essentially translates to an effective lease price of $316 a month. Please remember that this price does not cover taxes or registration fees.
### Constant Price Reductions
According to CarsDirect, Volkswagen has been systematically lowering its lease prices throughout the year. This latest adjustment means leasing a 2024 ID.4 is $100 cheaper than it was at the same time last year.
### Competitive Edge
The new lease terms place the ID.4 in a highly competitive position against other EVs like the Tesla Model Y, Hyundai Ioniq 5, and Kia EV6. Interestingly, the ID.4’s lease rate now matches that of the Volkswagen Jetta, making it the most affordable vehicle to lease from Volkswagen. It even undercuts the Toyota Corolla SE, which has an effective lease rate of $372 per month.
### Range Considerations
Before heading to your nearest VW dealership, it’s essential to consider your range needs. The featured lease deal is for the Standard model of the ID.4, not the Pro version. The ID.4 Pro offers a competitive EPA-estimated range of 291 miles for the 2WD version and 263 miles for the AWD version. In contrast, the Standard model has a smaller battery pack and offers an EPA-estimated range of 206 miles.
This range is less than that of the Nissan Leaf Plus (215 miles) or the Hyundai Ioniq 5 Standard Range (220 miles). Despite this, the low entry price makes the ID.4 Standard an excellent choice as a secondary vehicle or for those who primarily drive locally.
### Conclusion
Would you opt for the ID.4 Standard, or would you prefer upgrading to the ID.4 Pro? We’re eager to hear your thoughts—let us know in the comments below.
