FYI: Two horsepower-heavy titans clash in OG Battles as a ferociously modified Nissan R35 GT-R squares off against a tuned Audi RS3, each bringing their road-ripping credentials to an exhilarating showdown.

In an adrenaline-fueled episode of OG Battles, YouTuber Nams pits his two prized beasts against each other: a roaring Nissan R35 GT-R and a fierce Audi RS3. Both cars, expertly crafted by Boost Performance, pack a punch on the strip, yet showcase distinct personalities. The Nissan, giving a nod to its heritage, churns out an impressive 750 horsepower from its 3.8-liter twin-turbo V6. However, when toggled to “kill mode,” it manages to squeeze out an astounding 820 hp. On the flip side, the Audi RS3 isn’t far behind with its 700 horsepower from a powerful 2.5-liter turbo inline-5 engine. With all-wheel-drive systems, both these machines pounce with power, setting the stage for a monumental drag strip battle.
At first glance, the specs appear evenly matched, but the GT-R’s unyielding force soon comes to light. Although the RS3 boasts a lighter build and quicker low-end acceleration, the GT-R dominates in mid to high-range speeds. Data from Vbox seals the deal, showing the GT-R darting from 100 to 200 km/h (62-124 mph) in an impressive 6.42 seconds, while the RS3 follows at 7.22 seconds. The race to a quarter-mile further underscores Nissan’s might, with the GT-R clocking 10.76 seconds at 132 mph and the RS3 at 10.89 seconds at 127 mph. Despite the Audi’s quicker 0 to 60 mph record at 2.81 seconds, slightly shaving off time from the GT-R’s 2.85 seconds, the Nissan’s larger engine proves decisive as the race progresses.
Owner’s Pride and a Surprise Twist
A unique element of this face-off was that both cars belong to Nams himself, elevating personal stakes to mere bragging rights. For a fun-filled twist, the OG Battles crew injected an extra dose of excitement by adding two passengers in the GT-R for a bonus round. This move tipped the scales, allowing the RS3 to claim victory, marking three consecutive overtake wins. Yet, even with the extra load, the GT-R’s prowess remained evident.
What truly shone through this episode was the camaraderie and sportsmanship of the drivers. Competitors demonstrated impeccable reaction times and adhered strictly to the plan, further enhancing the sheer enjoyment of the event. It was clear that for these drivers, the thrill of the ride and the spirit of fair competition outweighed any ego.
When the smoke cleared, the Nissan GT-R took home the glory, but the Audi RS3 demonstrated it was not merely a spectator. With both cars parked under the same roof, Nams comes out a winner no matter the outcome.
